La struttura che ospita il Grande Cocomero nel quartiere romano di San Lorenzo, a rischio sgombero dopo l'ordinanza dell'ex commissario Tronca, è stata dalla fine dell'800 al secondo dopoguerra un educatorio. In questi spazi è stato girato il film omonimo dell'Archibugi. Dal 2005 è la sede dell'associazione per la ricerca e la cura nel campo della psichiatria infantile che nasce dalla ‘concretissima utopia’ di Marco Lombardo Radice, neuropsichiatra infantile che credeva in un diverso spessore di impegno - più che professionale, umano - per la cura di tutti quei bambini e ragazzi che si trovano in difficoltà nel guadare le acque turbolente del crescere e divenire grandi. I laboratori del mercoledì sono frequentati come attività extraclinica settimanale
da piccoli gruppi di adolescenti con problemi psichiatrici provenienti da Neuro Psichiatria Infantile, accompagnati da infermieri e specializzandi, e sono da sempre un
caposaldo delle attività svolte ll’interno del Grande Cocomero.
